Join the Collaboration Circle Board

We are recruiting two voluntary Board Directors to help shape the next phase of Collaboration Circle.

We are looking for:

  • one person from a funding organisation
  • one person from an equity and justice organisation

Applications close at midday on 19 October 2026.

About Collaboration Circle

Collaboration Circle brings funders and civil society together to pool resources, share power and make decisions.

We were established to make collaborative funding simpler and more equitable, creating space for people with different knowledge, experience and resources to design, deliver and learn together.

Our Board is made up of equal numbers of Directors from funding organisations and equity and justice organisations. This balance ensures that different perspectives and forms of expertise shape our decisions and development.

About the opportunity

Joining the Board is an opportunity to help guide Collaboration Circle through its next phase of growth.

Directors will:

  • provide strategic direction and oversight
  • help decide which collaborative funds Collaboration Circle will support
  • contribute to the development of new funding partnerships and approaches
  • help ensure our governance and operating model remain effective as we grow
  • share learning that can contribute to wider change across the funding system

Directors will not make individual grant decisions. Funding Committees will be appointed for each pooled fund, bringing together relevant funding, community and subject expertise.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for curious, committed people who share our ambition for a more equitable and collaborative funding system.

One vacancy is for someone from a funding organisation. The other is for someone from an equity and justice organisation led by and for marginalised communities.

We want our Board to reflect the diversity of the communities and organisations we work alongside. We particularly welcome applications from people whose knowledge and experience would broaden the perspectives currently represented.

The role pack includes full details of the skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for. We do not expect any one person to bring everything listed.

Commitment and support

These are voluntary, unpaid positions.

The Board currently meets every quarter for three hours, alternating between online meetings and meetings in central London. There is also one annual away day.

We will provide practical support to enable Directors to take part. This may include travel expenses, interpreting or translated materials, and any access equipment required. New Directors will receive a full induction, with further training and development offered in response to the Board’s needs.

How to apply

Please send:

  • your CV
  • a short letter of no more than two sides of A4, explaining why you would like to join the Board and what you would bring to the role
