Collaboration Circle is a wholly owned subsidiary of Funders Together, established as a private company limited by guarantee. Its board of directors is drawn in equal number from the funding community and civil society organisations focused on equity and justice, reflecting the conviction that the people closest to communities should have an equal role in shaping how funding reaches them.
Funders Together is the organisation formed through the coming together of London Funders, 360Giving, Collaboration Circle and the Centre for Place-Based Giving. It exists to connect the data, the networks and the learning that help funders work better, together and for communities. Its vision is funding built on fairness and trust, powering communities to positively shape the world.
Collaboration Circle sits at the heart of that mission. It is Funders Together’s vehicle for making collaborative funding possible at scale: creating the infrastructure through which funders can pool resources across sectors, geographies and organisational boundaries, and through which funding and civil society can share decision-making as genuine equals.
The work of Collaboration Circle draws directly on Funders Together’s wider assets: the open data and transparency work of 360Giving, the funder networks and intelligence of London Funders, and the place-based expertise of the Centre for Place-Based Giving. Together these create something none of them could offer alone: a connected infrastructure for funding that is more open, more equitable and more responsive to what communities need.
Collaboration Circle was launched in May 2024. Since then it has hosted Propel, a ten-year, hundred million pound collaboration committed to long-term, equity-led funding for London’s civil society, and a growing programme of collaborative funding initiatives. It is designed to grow: as a home for collaborations of any scale, from the hyperlocal to the national and international, each one contributing to a shared learning culture that strengthens the whole.
We are overseen by a Board of Directors drawn in equal number from the funding community and civil society organisations focussed on equity and justice.
